| General Overview | Ethan Cole grew up on a farm outside Wichita, where he spent childhood getting into harmless trouble, outrunning consequences, and laughing his way through life. He joined the MACOs at eighteen after a recruiter promised “danger, adventure, and plenty of opportunities to run.” During training he excelled in close-quarters combat and instinctive reflex shooting, but struggled with patience and protocol. His instructors described him as “a natural fighter and a consistent headache.” Despite that, his heart was undeniable, and he became a favourite among his peers for his loyalty and infectious energy. While serving aboard the troop transport UEC Armstrong, he earned a commendation for pulling two MACOs from a fire-damaged corridor during a containment accident. His bravery was never in question — only his restraint. He received promotion to Private First Class, held there intentionally to give him more mentorship time under senior NCOs. Hale, whether he likes it or not, is exactly that mentor now. Cole joined the NX-03 Challenger with boundless excitement, ready for his first deep-space posting.
