Earth Starfleet Issued |
The standard 2156-type Phase Pistol and Phase Rifle are available upon clearance by the Armory Officer, or by order of the ship's commanding officer. These are updated from the 2151 models. Earth Starfleet is also field testing a protective field vest |
MACO Issued |
The standard MACO EM-35 Phase Pistol and MACO EMC-35 Particle Rifle are standard issue to MACO personnel, and available through prior authorization request by the Chief Armory Officer and commanding officer of the ship, and the MACO Commander based on availability. These are updated from the 2149 models. Also issued requiring prior authorization to MACOs only by the MACO Commander is the AP-77L light rail gun for operations where radiation hinders beam weapons, the special SEM-3N sniper rifle specifically for the MACO Sharpshooter, and a single heavy repeating phased particle weapon which is not to be deployed on ship and is assigned only to the MACO Heavy Weapons soldier. The MACO force has their own protective vest. |
Vulcan-Issued |
The V'Ket 22-Arak Phased Beam Sidearm is available for use by Armory personnel during cross-training exercises, or for use as a sidearm by Vulcan Defense Force exchange personnel for their personal protection. Any other use is special dispensation requiring authorization by the Chief Armory Officer. VHC has not authorized use of other sidearms on non-Vulcan vessels at this time. |
Andorian-Issued |
The Shrev-type Phased Particle Field Pistol is available for use by Armory personnel during cross-training exercises, or for use as a sidearm by Andorian Imperial Guard exchange personnel in addition to carrying an Ushaan-tor. Any other use needs special dispensation, requiring authorization by the Chief Armory Officer. |
Tellarite Issued |
At this time the Tellarite System Defense Force is only issuing their basic standard phased energy baton pistol. It is available for use by Armory personnel during cross-training exercises, or for use as a sidearm by Tellarite exchange personnel. Any other use is special dispensation requiring authorization by the Chief Armory Officer. |
Denobulan-Issued |
The Denobulan Interplanetary Peacekeepers have allowed Starfleet to have a few of their non-lethal protection sidearm aboard some of their ships, the PPb phased energy sidearm. Denobulan exchange officers, including civilians, are also offered this sidearm for their protection. It is the only weapon that Starfleet is currently offering to any civilians aboard ship who have not passed their civilian Phase Pistol certification. |
Coridanite Issued |
The Coridan System Union has sent two sidearms for use by Armory personnel during cross-training exercises, or for use as a sidearm by Coridanite exchange personnel for their personal protection. Any other use is special dispensation requiring authorization by the Chief Armory Officer. The PeL-Light and the older PeC-Heavy use an unusual "ion packet projectile" that skirts radiation issues found with some environments. The weapon can also disable computer systems without causing permanent damage. However they are without frills and have only two settings. |
Rigellian Issued |
The Rigellian Confederacy have allowed a small number of their sidearms to be borrowed by Earth Starfleet for study and cross-training purposes. Rigellian exchange officers may request the use of one. Non-Rigellian, non-Armory officers are not currently authorized to use or study the design, by order of the Marshal of the Rigellian Confederacy's System Defense Force. |
Earth and Colonial Issued |
Earth Security and the various Colonial governments issue civilian and police grade sidearms. A few of these are available for civilian use as protection in an emergency when the civilian has not been trained with the use of a Starfleet Phase Pistol. While Earth Security has an older, simpler form of the phase pistol, many colonies early on adopted a Japanese Police Force sidearm- the Shizu-41 charged particle pistol. Luna, Mars and the Outer Worlds Commonwealth all use variations of this venerable design. |
